Plex needed a functional and flexible motion package that could stretch between on and off air touchpoints. Drawing on their recently redesigned logo and the intrinsic movement of their iconic chevron, we developed an animation system that could flex with their diverse array of content. From serious and cinematic to bold and irreverent, every deliverable had the option of being footage or graphic driven to create an extensive tonal range. Additionally, the package featured four distinct colorways, each with light and dark options, that could be used individually for content specific promos or combined to create a visually stunning master brand palette.
Plex helps users integrate their digital media collection with their home entertainment set up. Now that Plex is building its own library of streamable properties, we wanted to use the idea of connection and forward momentum to guide our motion principles. Scale jumps from footage into graphic worlds create a dynamic layered effect, while secondary elements follow on rails like an elastic chain. Messaging is bold and movements are snappy. Interconnected but not mechanical. Reactive but not bouncy. An ownable language that, like Plex, can really do it all.
